MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGERY

Our MRI device delivers exceptional image quality for accurate results.

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is an ultra-sophisticated method of producing images that use radio waves and magnets. MRI creates highly detailed pictures, especially effective in examining the brain or spine for problems with mobility.

    Process

To prepare for the exam, be sure to eat only a light meal before the test and not eat or drink any liquids three hours beforehand. Also, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated during the exam!

Expect some tests to require special preparation: brain/pituitary/internal ear canal MRI – do not eat anything but low-fat dairy products before the test; MIBG scan – no heavy meals containing fat.

    CNESST cases

At Montérégie Radiology, our receptionists know perfectly well the procedures to follow and they will take all the necessary steps for you concerning your request for authorization of examination with the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).

Send us your doctor’s request, including your contact information, the CNESST file number and the name of the officer managing your file.

We will need to request an examination authorization from the CNESST before scheduling your appointment with us.

*PATIENTS MUST COVER THE COSTS OF THE EXAM

Exam fees not covered by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)

The patient who believes that the amounts billed after December 6th, 2015 are for services insured under the Health Insurance Act or fees relating to their dispensation can, within five years of payment, make a written claim for reimbursement to the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec. When it is of the opinion that the amounts billed are not allowed, the Régie reimburses the patient and recovers the same amount from the professional or third party who billed for the services.”
